Protesters in Quetta remove bodies from hospital morgue
In Quetta, relatives of missing persons have taken several bodies from the morgue at the Civil Hospital. They demanded to identify the deceased, hoping to find their loved ones among them. The protesters were part of the Baloch Yakjehti Committee (BYC). They forced their way into the morgue, where at least five bodies were taken. Hospital officials reported that the bodies were intercepted during a demonstration at the hospital. Videos on social media showed individuals removing shrouded bodies and placing them in coffins. BYC activists said they had been waiting for days to view the bodies. Authorities claimed the bodies belonged to individuals involved in an attack on the Jaffar Express and were identified as terrorists killed in a military operation. Meanwhile, police conducted raids in Quetta and recovered at least three of the bodies, but they were not returned to the hospital before the article was published. A BYC spokesperson noted that protesters had faced police resistance and were initially prevented from accessing the morgue. He claimed that police used batons, causing injuries to two women and leading to several arrests. Eventually, the large number of protesters was able to overwhelm the police and gain access to the morgue. Later, police recovered most of the bodies from various areas in Quetta.
