Protesters occupy Trump Tower for detained activist release
Protesters occupied Trump Tower in New York City, demanding the release of Mahmoud Khalil, a pro-Palestinian organizer and Columbia University student. The group, Jewish Voice for Peace, filled the lobby and chanted slogans. Khalil, a legal permanent resident, was arrested by the Trump administration over the weekend, facing deportation. A judge has since issued a temporary block on the deportation. Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene stated on social media that the building's owner would likely press charges against the protesters.
