Protesters plan demonstration at Israeli embassy in London
Protesters will gather outside the Israeli embassy in London this weekend to show support for Palestine. The Metropolitan Police announced that there will be at least four demonstrations over Saturday and Sunday. The Palestine Coalition plans to protest on Saturday from 12:30 PM to 4:30 PM. The police have put strict measures in place to reduce disruption to the public. Another protest, organized by For the Children, will start at 1 PM in the Park Lane and Wellington Arch area. Police have not received notice of counter-protests on Saturday but are ready to respond if needed. Chief Superintendent Stuart Bell emphasized the police's role in allowing peaceful protests while keeping disruptions to a minimum. On Sunday, further protests are planned to mark Al-Quds Day, a global event supporting Palestine. Demonstrators will meet at Marble Arch and march down Oxford Street towards Portland Place, where a rally will take place near the BBC's Broadcasting House. The police have implemented conditions for protests in Portland Place to consider the impact on a nearby synagogue and the significance of the Sabbath for Jewish people. Meanwhile, a counter-protest organized by the pro-Israeli group Stop The Hate will occur at the same time, with plans for an assembly in Oxford Circus.
