Protesters support Khalil, 98 arrested at Trump Tower
Protesters gathered at Trump Tower in New York on Thursday to support Mahmoud Khalil, a Palestinian student detained by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) for his role in pro-Palestinian demonstrations. Nearly 100 people were arrested for trespassing. The demonstration, organized by Jewish Voice for Peace, included chants against the Trump administration and support for Khalil. Protesters entered the building's lobby, displaying banners and slogans. No injuries or property damage were reported. Following Khalil's arrest, the Trump administration canceled his green card and announced plans for further actions against students involved in similar protests. Columbia University also took disciplinary measures against students from previous demonstrations.
