Providence Catholic athletes support growth of special needs basketball camp

The Super Celtics Special Needs Coed Camp has expanded from 16 campers in 2023 to over 40 in 2025, with support from Providence Catholic athletes. The camp offers basketball activities for special-needs students, fostering interaction and enjoyment. Shane Kocher, a camper, showed significant progress this year, participating more actively than in previous years. His mother noted his excitement for the camp, contrasting with earlier reluctance. The camp continues to provide a supportive environment for all participants. The camp was initiated by assistant girls basketball coach Jenna Maziur, inspired by her son. Providence athletes dedicate time to help, emphasizing the importance of the experience over sports achievements. The camp aims to grow further in the future.
