PTI demands joint Parliament session to discuss terrorism
The Secretary General of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), Salman Akram Raja, has called on the government to hold a joint session of Parliament. He wants this meeting to focus on the rising incidents of terrorism in Pakistan. Raja criticized the government for quickly calling a National Security Committee (NSC) meeting. He said this left PTI little time to prepare and consult with their leadership. He reaffirmed that the party's decision to boycott the NSC meeting was the right choice. Furthermore, Raja announced that PTI is forming a grand opposition alliance to challenge the current government. He mentioned that PTI's imprisoned founder is still aware of the political situation in the country. Raja also praised Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman for helping to remove some contentious clauses from the 26th Amendment. He dismissed the idea that the politics of Dera Ismail Khan would influence national politics. He stressed the importance of an All Parties Conference (APC). Raja urged the government to bring together all political groups for a thorough discussion on national security and political issues facing the country.
