PTI leader calls for inquiry after abrupt end to Islamabad protest
PTI leader Shaukat Yousafzai expressed disappointment over the abrupt end of a protest in Islamabad, which started on November 24. He criticized party leadership for a lack of guidance and planning, noting that only Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur took charge. Yousafzai called for an internal inquiry into the decision to focus the protest at D-Chowk, questioning the absence of key leaders and the lack of engagement with the government despite offers for negotiations. He highlighted mismanagement and the mobilization of party workers without clear direction. Federal ministers reported that hundreds of protesters were arrested, and many abandoned vehicles during the protest. Information Minister Attaullah Tarar criticized Gandapur, suggesting he should be called a "deserter" for leaving the scene.
