PTI protest to persist until Imran Khan intervenes, says Khyber Pakhtunkhwa CM
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur announced that the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) protest in Islamabad will continue until Imran Khan calls it off. This follows a crackdown by law enforcement that led to injuries and deaths among party workers. Gandapur claimed he and Bushra Bibi were targeted by snipers during the protest. He promised Rs10 million compensation for families of those killed and stated that injured workers would receive medical assistance. Omar Ayub, another PTI leader, called for an investigation into the death of a security personnel and accused Punjab police of unlawfully arresting PTI members in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Gandapur and other leaders held a meeting to address the situation before leaving Islamabad by helicopter.
