PTI refuses to negotiate with government before November 24 protest in Pakistan
The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) party, led by imprisoned founder Imran Khan, has stated it will not engage in negotiations with the government before its planned nationwide protest on November 24. PTI member Sheikh Waqas Akram emphasized that discussions are off the table until after the protest. Imran Khan has called for supporters to join the protest in Islamabad and globally, demanding the revocation of the 26th Constitutional Amendment and the release of political prisoners. A committee has been formed to organize the march, though its members' identities remain undisclosed due to concerns of arrest. In response to government comments downplaying the protest's significance, Akram asserted that PTI supporters would remain at the protest site until their objectives are met. The government has offered dialogue, but Akram noted that such discussions are not part of Khan's current strategy.
