Puerto Princesa to face dangerous 42°C heat index

Puerto Princesa City is expecting a dangerous heat index on March 20, 2025. The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) has issued a warning. The forecast indicates a heat index between 42°C and 51°C, which can cause health issues like heat cramps, heat exhaustion, and heat stroke. PAGASA stated that Puerto Princesa could reach a heat index of 42°C. The heat index reflects how hot it feels by combining humidity with actual temperature. In comparison, Metro Manila will have lower heat indices. NAIA in Pasay City expects a heat index of 36°C, while Science Garden in Quezon City is projected to feel 35°C. Puerto Princesa experienced a similar 42°C heat index on Wednesday. PAGASA advises people to limit outdoor activities, stay hydrated, and wear light clothing to prevent heat-related health problems.
