The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) is planning to build a new bridge over the Mutha river. This bridge will connect Shivane and Nanded city. Saneep Patil, the executive engineer at PMC, announced that a tender has been issued to hire a consultant for this project. The consultant will oversee the construction process and help with various activities before and after the tender. Currently, parts of Pune are divided by the Mula-Mutha and Pawana rivers. The PMC has constructed 22 bridges in the city to link different areas. The new bridge will expand this network. In addition to the Shivane-Nanded bridge, the PMC is also working on another bridge between Karve Nagar and Sun City. This will improve access from Shivane and Karve Nagar to Sinhagad Road. The bridge from Sun City to Karve Nagar will offer a direct route for residents living near Santosh Hall to reach Kothrud. An anonymous PMC officer stated that they are in the process of appointing a consultant. Once this is done, tenders will be issued, and construction can begin.
