Pune police seize 60kg ganja, arrest 28-year-old
Police in Pune arrested a 28-year-old man for possessing a large amount of illegal drugs. The man, identified as Nadeem Moij Sheikh from Bidar, Karnataka, was taken into custody on Saturday. Officers from the Anti-Narcotics Cell 1 were patrolling the Shankarsheth Road area when they received a tip-off. They stopped Sheikh's car and conducted a search. Inside, they discovered 30 packets of Ganja, weighing a total of 60 kilograms. The drugs, hidden in four nylon bags, are valued at around ₹12 lakh. Along with the Ganja, police seized Sheikh's mobile phone and his car, with a combined worth of ₹17.10 lakh. Authorities believe Sheikh may be linked to a larger drug supply network. Sheikh has been charged under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act. The investigation is ongoing as police continue their inquiries into the case.
