Pune property registrations steady, stamp duty collections rise
In February 2025, the real estate market in Pune saw steady performance, with property registrations totaling 19,012. This marks a slight increase of 1% from February 2024, where 18,791 properties were registered. However, stamp duty collections for the district rose by 7.6%, reaching ₹712 crore, compared to ₹662 crore collected in the same month last year. This is an improvement from January 2025, when collections stood at ₹638 crore alongside 17,449 registrations. Knight Frank India reports that the market remains strong, particularly in the high-value segment. More buyers are interested in homes priced above ₹1 crore, which increased from 14% last year to 16% this year. The demand for larger apartments is also growing, with units over 800 sq ft rising from 24% to 32%. Central Pune continues to dominate residential transactions, representing 76% of the market share. This is a slight decrease from the previous year, as other areas in Pune are gaining traction due to changing buyer preferences. West Pune holds 12% of the market, while North, South, and East Pune combined contribute 11%.
