Punjab Agricultural University honors seven farmers at Kisan Mela

Punjab Agricultural University (PAU) has announced it will honor seven farmers during the Kisan Mela on March 21 and 22. The awards celebrate achievements in different areas of agriculture. Baljeet Singh, from Kakra village in Sangrur, will receive the Sardarni Prakash Kaur Memorial Award for his work in crop production. Amaninder Singh and Jaskaran Singh, both from Sangrur and Muktsar, respectively, will each receive the chief minister’s award for their achievements in horticulture. In addition, Gurdeep Singh from Atutt village in Hoshiarpur will be awarded the Commitment, Reliability, and Innovation (CRI) pumps award for agricultural machinery. Harpreet Kaur, also from Sangrur, will receive the CRI pumps award for her contributions to organic farming. Sardar Jasbir Singh from Hoshiarpur will be recognized with the CRI pumps award in water management. Finally, Pawan Jot Singh from Togrhi village in Jalandhar will take home the chief minister’s award for his work in subsidy occupation. These awards highlight the important role farmers play in the agricultural sector.
