Punjab approves eight development schemes worth Rs57 billion
The Provincial Development Working Party (PDWP) has approved eight new development projects worth over Rs57 billion in Lahore. This decision was made during their 70th meeting, which took place on Thursday. The meeting was led by Barrister Nabeel Ahmad Awan, who is the Chairman of the Planning and Development Board. Key projects include the CM Punjab Laptop Programme, which will cost Rs27 billion. There is also a plan to establish new Enforcement Stations of the Punjab Emergency Rescue Authority (PERA) in Punjab. This initiative involves renovations and new construction, totaling Rs9.594 billion. Other significant projects include the construction of the Punjab Revenue Authority headquarters, which will cost Rs4.419 billion. There's also funding for multi-story courts in District Sheikhupura, with an allocation of Rs1.028 billion. Additionally, the plans feature the establishment of Material Testing Laboratories in Gujranwala and Sialkot, costing Rs1.731 billion, and Aquaculture Malis in Punjab, which will require Rs2.170 billion. Furthermore, a new University of Child Health Sciences will be built in Lahore at a cost of Rs9.174 billion. Lastly, there is a program to revamp outpatient department blocks in tertiary care hospitals across Punjab, with a budget of Rs2.267 billion.
