Punjab farmers receive tractors for wheat cultivation support
Punjab's Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has launched a new program to support farmers growing wheat. The initiative will reward successful farmers with tractors. During the launch ceremony, CM Nawaz activated the draw for the tractors. A total of 1,000 tractors will be given away to wheat farmers. The first tractor was awarded to Kausar Parveen, a woman farmer from Bahawalnagar. The program saw strong interest, with 57,733 landowners applying for the draw. Out of these, 21,496 were found eligible to win a tractor. Each successful farmer will receive a 55-horsepower tractor, with deliveries expected to start within three months. This year, wheat has been planted on 560,000 acres in Punjab as part of this initiative.
