Punjab governor aims to enhance digital education payments

The Governor of Punjab, Sardar Saleem Haider Khan, visited JazzCash on Thursday to discuss ways to improve digitisation in education. This effort aligns with the government’s goal of creating a cashless society. During the meeting, they talked about partnering with private companies to promote digital payments in educational institutions. The governor highlighted how digital payments could boost economic growth and make life easier for citizens. He urged fintech companies to develop better digital payment solutions for schools and universities. The push for digital payments is expected to enhance socio-economic growth and improve tax compliance. It will also make transactions easier for students, parents, and schools, supporting a more efficient education system. JazzCash President Murtaza Ali emphasized the importance of digitising financial transactions in education. He mentioned that digital payments could help students access banking services like loans and savings, ultimately benefiting their families and communities. The governor commended JazzCash for its vital role in expanding digital payment services. Both JazzCash and the Government of Punjab have been working together on several initiatives, such as digital payments for traffic fines and university fees. JazzCash is also part of a government committee aimed at promoting a cashless economy, helping to encourage the use of digital payments across Pakistan.
