Punjab police arrest four in narco-terror module raid
The Punjab Police have arrested four people linked to a drug smuggling operation, including a father and son. They recovered 4 kilograms of heroin during the operation on Sunday. Director General of Police Gaurav Yadav said these individuals were in contact with drug smugglers from Pakistan. The arrests took place in Amritsar near Government Hospital. The accused have been identified as Sukhwinder Singh, his son Navjot Singh, Aniket, and Gurpreet Singh. Police also seized an auto-rickshaw and a motorcycle used for transporting drugs. According to police, the gang received the heroin from an area near Attari to distribute it to local dealers. Investigations indicate that a foreign individual named Bhullar is managing the operation. Sukhwinder and Navjot had recently acquired the heroin in Rajatal village, which they shared with Aniket and Gurpreet. Additionally, two other family members, Harmanjit Singh and Sagar, were arrested in a previous drug case and are currently in jail. The police are investigating their connections in this smuggling network. DGP Yadav affirmed their commitment to tackling organized crime in Punjab and expects more arrests and drug recoveries soon.
