Punjab SMOs receive management training to improve hospitals
A six-day management training program for 30 senior medical officers in Punjab will start at the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad, on Monday. The program aims to improve hospital administration and healthcare delivery in the state. Punjab's health minister, Dr. Balbir Singh, noted that doctors excel in surgeries but lack training in hospital management. The initiative is designed to address administrative failures observed in various hospitals. Officials highlighted issues such as difficulties in purchasing medicines and managing basic hospital operations. The training will focus on essential skills like decision-making and public health system improvement.
