Putin expressed uncertainty about what a second Trump term would entail, stating, "I don’t know what will happen now." He acknowledged Trump's desire to improve U.S.-Russia relations and end the conflict in Ukraine quickly.
A Kremlin spokesperson indicated that discussions between Trump and Putin could occur before Trump takes office in January. Trump also mentioned that he expects to communicate with Putin soon.
