Putin uses shadow fleet to evade Western sanctions
Vladimir Putin is reportedly using a "shadow fleet" of ships to bypass Western sanctions by trading oil through the English Channel. About 15 vessels are said to transport crude oil daily, valued at millions of pounds. This fleet helps sustain Russia's economy, which is under pressure from defense spending and sanctions targeting its oil exports. The ship Destan recently traveled from Primorsk through the Channel to the Indian port of Vadinar. The use of this shadow fleet marks a new strategy for Russia to maintain its oil trade despite increasing economic restrictions from the West.
