In another incident, a brawl broke out among foreign inmates at the Special Prison for Women (SPW) in Puzhal. She received medical treatment from prison doctors, and a police case was filed against the Nigerian prisoner. Additionally, a 28-year-old remand prisoner named Ajithkumar attempted suicide by swallowing nails. He was arrested for theft by Elephant Gate police. Ajithkumar reportedly felt depressed because no family members visited him in jail. After prison staff were alerted, he was taken to the prison hospital and later hospitalized. Doctors successfully removed the nails from his stomach, and he is reported to be stable. Puzhal police are currently investigating these incidents.
