Queen Maxima and King Willem-Alexander visit Kenya
Queen Maxima of the Netherlands recently visited Kenya with King Willem-Alexander. They went to Lake Naivasha as part of a four-day official trip. The couple toured a nature reserve, dressed in stylish outfits with earthy colors and bright accents. Queen Maxima stood out in a paisley-patterned two-piece, cinched with a straw belt and matching sunhat. She completed her look with large wooden hoop earrings. King Willem-Alexander wore a beige suit with a light blue shirt and a purple tie. The nature reserve is famous for its stunning landscapes and wildlife, including giraffes, hippos, and zebras. A lovely photo shared online shows the couple cuddling in this picturesque setting. During their visit, they also met with a Dutch company in Kenya that focuses on sustainable practices and supports its workers’ families with education and childcare. They were warmly welcomed by local officials, who discussed important issues like water, climate, and security. The couple also paid tribute by laying a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Warrior and participated in a tree-planting ceremony. Kenya aims to plant 15 billion trees by 2032 to enhance forest cover and tackle climate change. The night before, they attended a grand royal banquet. Queen Maxima wore a vibrant blue blouse and a gold floral skirt, adorned with a Dutch sapphire tiara. King Willem-Alexander looked sharp in a classic black tuxedo. This royal visit aims to strengthen ties between the Netherlands and Kenya, focusing on sustainable development. On their final day, they plan to hold talks with Chief Justice Martha Koome and discuss efforts to combat violent extremism at the International Peace Support Training Centre.
