Quezon City residents encouraged to participate in Earth Hour
Quezon City Mayor Joy Belmonte has called on residents to participate in Earth Hour 2025 this Saturday. The event encourages everyone to turn off non-essential lights for one hour, from 8:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Mayor Belmonte emphasized that by switching off lights, people can help save energy and fight climate change. She stated that this action is important in reducing greenhouse gas emissions. To celebrate Earth Hour, the city government will hold a ceremonial switch-off at Robinsons Magnolia. Joel Lumanlan, a vice president of Robinsons Malls, shared that this event shows their commitment to sustainability. The Earth Hour event will feature various activities, including interactive exhibits and discussions on sustainability. There will also be a special screening of a film called "A Thousand Forest." Earth Hour is a worldwide movement that brings together millions of participants from 190 countries to raise awareness about climate change.
