Quiver Distribution acquires North American rights to "Off the Record"
Quiver Distribution has secured the North American rights to a new music drama called "Off the Record." The film is written and directed by Kirsten Foe, a filmmaker who started as a stuntwoman. It stars Rainey Qualley, known for "Mad Men," and Ryan Hansen from "Veronica Mars." The story centers on Astor Grey, a talented singer-songwriter whose life changes drastically because of a turbulent relationship with a washed-up rock star named Brandyn Verge. What begins as a passionate romance reveals deeper themes of manipulation and resilience. The cast also includes notable actors like Rebecca De Mornay and Olivia Sui, along with cameos from celebrities such as Billy Gibbons of ZZ Top and former NFL stars Peyton Manning and Edgerrin James. Quiver Distribution’s Co-Presidents, Berry Meyerowitz and Jeff Sackman, expressed their excitement about bringing the film to audiences. They emphasized that although it is set in the music industry, the film's messages are relevant to many different fields and experiences. Kirsten Foe highlighted the collaboration behind the film, noting that it features a diverse group of female, queer, and BIPOC creatives. She hopes the film inspires young women to pursue their dreams without fear. The movie includes original music, with performances by Qualley and contributions from Scout LaRue Willis and Kyle Gass. The deal was negotiated by Quiver Distribution’s Judah Klatzker and Steff Reed.
