Rachin Ravindra impresses ahead of IPL 2025

Rachin Ravindra is gaining attention as he prepares for the upcoming IPL 2025 season. The New Zealand batter debuted internationally in 2021 and shone during the 2023 Cricket World Cup in India. There, he was New Zealand's top scorer, collecting 578 runs in 10 matches, which included three centuries and two fifties. Kane Williamson, a senior Kiwi player, praised Ravindra's talent and learning ability. He believes that Ravindra will have many opportunities this season while playing for Chennai Super Kings. Williamson mentioned that Ravindra is "a fast learner" with great potential. In IPL 2024, Ravindra played decently, scoring 222 runs in 10 matches. He was bought back for IPL 2025 at a higher price after being released. His recent performances have also included a strong showing in the Champions Trophy, where he earned the Golden Bat for scoring 263 runs. Williamson also highlighted Indian opener Abhishek Sharma, who had a successful IPL 2024 season, scoring 484 runs. After a rocky start in international matches, Abhishek has found his form, particularly excelling against top teams like England. He now has a good average and has scored over 1,000 runs in his last 22 innings across formats. Williamson is optimistic about both young players as they enter the new season. He noted the strength of the Sunrisers Hyderabad team, hinting that they can score heavily on their good days. The IPL 2025 season kicks off with a match between Kolkata Knight Riders and Royal Challengers Bangalore on Saturday.
