Racist flyer discovered at Clio gas station
The Clio Police Department is investigating a racist flyer found at a local gas station. An employee at the Conlee Travel Center discovered the flyer on a gas pump this week. The employee discarded it before police could examine it. Police Chief Wendel Millstead stated that a detective informed him of the incident on March 19. He also mentioned that photos of similar racist flyers appeared on a community Facebook group on March 18. However, he could not confirm if those were related to the flyer found at the gas station. Chief Millstead said there have been no official reports made to the police about the gas station flyer or the social media posts. He emphasized that any criminal complaints would be investigated promptly. This is not the first time racist flyers have appeared in the area. Earlier this year, antisemitic flyers were found in Flushing, which is also in Genesee County. The gas station has not yet commented on the situation.
