Railway Board increases MEMU train coaches in Alappuzha

The Railway Board has decided to increase the number of coaches for MEMU trains on the Alappuzha coastal route. This decision comes after complaints about overcrowding from passengers. Member of Parliament K.C. Venugopal announced the news on Friday. To improve the service, the board will allocate 16 MEMU rakes to the Thiruvananthapuram division. This increase is meant to help ease the difficulties travelers face. Venugopal discussed these concerns with Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw before this decision was made. With the new allocation, the MEMU trains running between Alappuzha and Ernakulam, as well as Alappuzha and Kollam, will grow from 12 to 16 coaches. This change aims to provide some relief for passengers who rely on these routes.
