Rajasthan Royals secure Jofra Archer and strengthen squad in IPL 2025 auction

Rajasthan Royals made significant moves in the IPL 2025 auction, acquiring England pacer Jofra Archer for ₹12.5 crores. Archer, who previously played for RR from 2018 to 2021, expressed excitement about returning to the team. In addition to Archer, RR signed Sri Lankan players Wanindu Hasaranga and Maheesh Theekshana for ₹5.25 and ₹4.40 crores, respectively. They also added Akash Madhwal for ₹1.20 crore and Kartikeya Singh for ₹30 lakhs. The auction featured other notable transactions, including Rishabh Pant becoming the most expensive player in IPL history at ₹27 crores. Shreyas Iyer and Venkatesh Iyer were also acquired for ₹26.75 and ₹23.75 crores, respectively.
