Rajasthan Royals sign South African pacer Kwena Maphaka for ₹1.5 crore in IPL auction
South African pacer Kwena Maphaka was acquired by Rajasthan Royals for ₹1.5 crore in the IPL mega auction held in Jeddah. Maphaka was the top wicket-taker in the ICC U19 World Cup 2024, claiming 21 wickets in six matches. Karim Janat from Afghanistan was also sold, going to Gujarat Titans for ₹75 lakh. Several notable players, including Brandon King, Sikandar Raza, and Tom Latham, went unsold during the auction. Ajay Mandal was picked by Delhi Capitals for ₹30 lakh, while Pravin Dubey and Manvanth Kumar were also sold for the same amount to Punjab Kings and Delhi Capitals, respectively. U19 star Raj Limbani remained unsold.
