Rajasthan's Prem Singh Chouhan wins silver in badminton

Prem Singh Chouhan from Rajasthan has won a silver medal at the National Masters Badminton Championship 2025 in Goa. He competed in the men's singles 35 plus category and has earned a spot on the Indian team for the upcoming World Badminton Championship. Chouhan began his tournament strongly, defeating V L Duhavama from Mizoram with scores of 21-18 and 21-15. He continued his winning streak by beating Naveen Prasad from Tamil Nadu and Mohsin Sumra from Gujarat in the following rounds. In the quarterfinals, he won a close match against Amit Khadgi from Maharashtra. In the semifinals, Chouhan showcased his skills by overcoming Satinder Malik from Chandigarh with a score of 21-5 and 21-19. However, in the final, he faced a tough opponent, Jaswinder Singh from CAG, and lost in a hard-fought match that lasted over an hour. Two other badminton players from Rajasthan also performed well. Chand Chawat won a bronze medal in the 45 plus men's singles category, while Vikas Sharma claimed bronze in the 50 plus category. All three medalists will represent India at the Masters World Badminton Championship in Thailand, scheduled for September this year.
