Rajya Sabha discusses Home Ministry's functioning today
The Rajya Sabha will discuss the work of the Ministry of Home Affairs today. This is part of the ongoing Budget Session in Parliament. On Tuesday, Parliament approved additional spending of ₹51,463 crore. This is meant for the current fiscal year and includes the Manipur Budget for 2025-26. In the Lok Sabha, there were protests as the House transitioned to discussing the budget for the Ministry of Railways for 2025-26. In the Rajya Sabha, Congress MP Sonia Gandhi raised concerns about the MNREGS program. There was some commotion when Saket Gokhale brought up issues related to duplicate voter IDs. Today, further discussions and voting on the Demands for Grants related to the Ministry of Jal Shakti are also scheduled. Additionally, the Lok Sabha plans to use AI tools for live interpretation and create a chatbot for MPs to easily access Parliament records.
