Ralph Macchio discusses potential "My Cousin Vinny" sequel
Ralph Macchio has hinted that a sequel to the classic comedy "My Cousin Vinny" might be in the works. The actor, famous for his role as Bill Gambini, mentioned that he has talked with writers about the possibility. Macchio, now 63, expressed excitement about revisiting the beloved film during an event in Hollywood. In the original movie, Macchio's character is wrongly accused of murder. His cousin Vinny, played by Joe Pesci, steps in to help him, despite having little experience as a lawyer. Macchio acknowledged the challenge of bringing back the film's magic, noting the need for a fresh angle on the story. Joe Pesci, now 83, has mostly retired from acting. He has returned for a few projects since his last major role in 1999. Macchio joked that Pesci might be able to contribute via FaceTime. Marisa Tomei, who played Vinny's fiancée, Mona Lisa, remains active in Hollywood. At 60, she has continued working in films, including several Marvel movies. Macchio is also known for his work in the Netflix series "Cobra Kai," which recently ended its successful run. He paid tribute to his late co-star, Pat Morita, who played Mr. Miyagi in the original "Karate Kid." Macchio emphasized Morita's important role in their shared legacy.
