RAM Photonics launches mass production of 2D fiber arrays
RAM Photonics Industrial has announced the mass production of its new 2D fiber arrays, named the MedusaTM Array. This product uses automated technology to create fiber arrays with extreme precision, removing the need for manual assembly. The MedusaTM Array can support over 1,024 fiber ports while maintaining low insertion loss. This makes it ideal for modern applications in optical circuit switching (OCS) and co-packaged optics (CPO). The new product aims to bridge the gap between the semiconductor and optics industries, facilitating the production of affordable optical-to-electronic interfaces. As demand increases for AI, data centers, and high-performance computing, the ability to produce these components at scale has become crucial. RAM's automated process allows for customized designs while also keeping production costs low. John Marciante, CEO of RAM Photonics, expressed pride in launching the MedusaTM Array. He emphasized the company's commitment to high-quality manufacturing in this growing field. RAM will showcase its new products at an upcoming event in San Francisco from April 1 to April 3.
