Rams re-sign cornerback Ahkello Witherspoon for 2025
The Los Angeles Rams have re-signed cornerback Ahkello Witherspoon to a one-year contract. The team announced this deal on Wednesday. Witherspoon joined the Rams just before the 2023 training camp. He quickly made an impact and became a starter in Week 15, playing in both playoff games for the team. During his time as a starter, Witherspoon allowed 22 receptions on 32 targets. He also had six pass breakups and made a crucial interception late in a game against the Arizona Cardinals. This win helped the Rams secure the NFC West title. Witherspoon's return means the Rams will keep their top three cornerbacks from last season. He will play alongside Cobie Durant and Darious Williams. The team also recently added Emmanuel Forbes, a former first-round pick, and they will welcome back undrafted players Josh Wallace and Charles Woods. In other news, linebacker Nate Landman joined the Rams on a one-year deal. He was drawn to the team by their recent playoff success and his connections to the coaching staff from his last season with the Atlanta Falcons. Landman grew up in California after moving from Zimbabwe and is excited to return home. He believes his familiarity with the defensive scheme will help him transition smoothly to the Rams.
