Ranchi FDA issued 174 food safety certifications
Ranchi's food and drug administration has issued 174 new food safety certifications. This includes 83 licenses granted to food businesses. The registrations took place during a two-day camp from March 21 to 22. Food safety officer Subir Ranjan stated that this initiative aims to boost compliance in urban areas. It provides free registration for wholesalers, retailers, manufacturers, and transporters to enhance food safety standards. As part of the program, authorities have introduced an on-spot licensing system for street hawkers. This makes the process easier with fewer documents needed. For stationary vendors, required documents include an Aadhaar card, an electricity bill, and a passport photo. Meanwhile, mobile cart vendors need only an Aadhaar card and a photograph.
