Ranchi's bandh disrupts exams and parent meetings

Ranchi faced significant disruptions as a bandh led to roadblocks on Saturday. This situation created travel difficulties for students, teachers, and parents. Many were trying to attend important events, including parent-teacher meetings and Class XII CBSE exams. Gauri Tiwari, a Class XII student at DAV Public School, experienced major challenges getting to her exam center. She was stopped before Argora Chowk and had to reroute to reach her destination. Gauri described her journey as very stressful. Teachers also dealt with delays. Although schools were officially closed that day, many stayed open for parent-teacher meetings and exams. Sushil Kumar Arya, a teacher at DAV Public School, noted it took him nearly two extra hours to return home due to the blockades and had to find alternative routes. Students leaving their exams faced long delays. Enakshi Banerjee, from Kairali School, shared her frustration about being stuck in traffic for hours. She felt the roadblocks made a stressful exam day even more difficult. Several schools served as exam centers, including Delhi Public School and Jawahar Vidya Mandir. Many parents, like Anu Shrivastava, expressed frustration over the impact of the bandh on their plans. Anu's husband traveled from Patna for a parent-teacher meeting but faced difficulties due to the unexpected roadblocks. Overall, the bandh created a challenging environment for those trying to fulfill their educational commitments in Ranchi.
