Rare round egg sells for Rs 43,000 in Britain
A rare, perfectly round egg from Fenton Farm in Britain was sold for Rs 43,000 at auction. The money raised will go to the Devon Rape Crisis Organisation. Farm worker Alison Green found this unusual egg in January. Normally, chicken and duck eggs are abundant and sell for Rs 7 to Rs 15. However, this particular egg drew a price of around $500, making people curious about what makes it special. According to reports, the egg is completely spherical, unlike typical eggs which are slightly pointed on both ends. This unique shape is estimated to be a one-in-a-million occurrence. Alison Green has worked at the farm for three years and is used to handling around 30,000 eggs. She had never seen anything like this before. After discovering the egg, she preserved it in salt to keep it from spoiling. Green believed the buyer would keep the egg as a collector's item instead of eating it. Interestingly, this isn't the first time a perfectly round egg has been found. In 2023, an Australian woman also came across one. Green was surprised at the high bid for her egg, as she had thought about buying it herself if it remained affordable.
