Ray Hadley shares emotional hospital visit to granddaughter

Ray Hadley, a well-known radio personality, recently shared his emotional experience visiting his three-year-old granddaughter, Lola, in the hospital. Lola is currently battling leukaemia, a serious form of cancer. Hadley first announced her diagnosis last month. During his visit at John Hunter Hospital in Newcastle, Hadley spoke on the TV show NRL 360. He described how difficult it was to see Lola going through treatment. Hadley admitted he often struggles with his emotions but tries to stay strong for her. He mentioned shedding tears in the bathroom to avoid showing weakness in front of Lola. Lola's mother, Laura, is also handling the situation well. Hadley praised her as an excellent mother and noted that he admires her even more since the diagnosis. He remarked that many families face similar challenges, with a significant number of children diagnosed with cancer each month in Australia. Hadley has taken time off from his radio career to focus on his family during this tough period. He retired in December after nearly twenty years as a popular morning host in Sydney. He expressed that being free from work allows him to dedicate more time to supporting Lola and his family. He has been traveling frequently to the hospital, logging many kilometers on the road. Despite the sadness of the situation, Hadley is grateful that his retirement gives him the opportunity to be there for Lola during her treatment.
