RCB hints at Virat Kohli's potential return as captain after IPL auction updates

Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) has retained Virat Kohli for ₹21 crores ahead of the IPL Auction 2025, suggesting he may return as captain. Faf du Plessis, the previous captain, has been released. RCB's director of cricket, Mo Bobat, confirmed Kohli's importance to the team but did not finalize the captaincy decision. He mentioned Kohli had provided feedback through messages. During the auction, RCB made significant signings, including Phil Salt and Jitesh Sharma for ₹11.50 crores each. They also acquired Liam Livingstone, Josh Hazlewood, and Bhuvneshwar Kumar for substantial amounts.
