RCB prepares for IPL 2025 auction with focus on new captain and wicketkeeper

Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) have retained only three players—Virat Kohli, Rajat Patidar, and Yash Dayal—before the IPL 2025 Mega Auctions. They have released skipper Faf du Plessis and several key players, including Glenn Maxwell. RCB has spent 37 crores on the retained players, leaving them with 83 crores for the auction. The team aims to find a new captain and a wicketkeeper batter following Dinesh Karthik's retirement. The IPL 2025 mega auction will feature 1,577 players, including three newly added names. The auction will be broadcast live on Star Sports and streamed on the Jio Cinema app starting at 3 PM IST.
