Rebels seize Assad's abandoned palace uncovering luxury items and treasures
Rebel group Hayat Tahrir al-Sham has taken control of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad's abandoned palace after he fled to Russia. They discovered luxury items, including supercars, designer clothes, and a signed photo of Queen Elizabeth II. The palace contained a gold plaque from FIFA and numerous framed photos, including one of Assad's wife, Asma. Videos show civilians entering the palace, collecting items and posing for pictures among the debris. The U.S. State Department estimates the Assad family's wealth at $2 billion, hidden in various accounts and properties. The Kremlin confirmed the family received asylum in Russia, following orders from President Putin.
