Recall of dangerous children's jewelry in Australia

9news.com.au

A recall has been issued for children's necklaces and rings that pose a serious danger. These products could potentially kill or injure kids within hours due to unsafe button batteries. The recalled items include a plastic necklace with flashing lights and two plastic rings, one featuring a Santa Claus design. The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) reported that the batteries do not meet safety standards and may not be secured properly. The ACCC warned that if young children access the button batteries, they could choke, suffer severe internal burns, or die if the batteries are swallowed or inserted into their bodies. Dangerous injuries can occur in as little as two hours. These items were sold by Pacific Wholesalers Australia at Fantastic Discount in Newton Gardens, Adelaide, between November 3 and December 15 of last year. Customers are advised to stop using the products immediately and return them to the seller. Pacific Wholesalers can be contacted at 03 9555 4328 or via email at pacificwholesaler@hotmail.com for more information.
