Red flag warnings issued across Central and Southern Plains

news.yahoo.com

The National Weather Service has issued critical fire weather warnings for parts of the Central and Southern High Plains on Monday and Tuesday. This follows a weekend of severe weather that resulted in 37 deaths and extensive damage. Red flag warnings are in effect across Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas, Nebraska, Missouri, and Iowa. Low humidity and strong winds are expected to create conditions that could lead to rapid wildfire growth. In addition, a weather front will bring rain and light snow to the Northeast and Central Appalachians. Snow is also forecasted for parts of the Northern Rockies and Upper Mississippi Valley through Tuesday.
