Red Sox cut All-Star pitcher Michael Fulmer from roster
The Boston Red Sox made a surprising move on Friday by cutting pitcher Michael Fulmer from their spring training roster. Fulmer is a former American League All-Star and the 2016 Rookie of the Year. Even though he had a strong spring, the Red Sox have decided to make some roster changes. Reports indicate that other players may also be cut, but Fulmer is the only one confirmed so far. Boston's manager, Alex Cora, is in the process of informing the players about their status. Fulmer, who is 32 years old, showed good performance during this spring training. He pitched 9.1 innings, allowing only nine hits and one earned run. He walked three batters and struck out nine. He signed a minor league contract with the Red Sox in February. Last season, Fulmer played for the Chicago Cubs, where he had a record of 3-5 with a 4.42 ERA. He ended the season after undergoing Tommy John surgery due to a right forearm strain, marking the second time he had this surgery in his career.
