Red Sox may trade for Sandy Alcántara from Marlins

Bowden suggests the Red Sox might offer Wilyer Abreu, along with other prospects, for Alcántara. Alcántara, a former Cy Young Award winner, missed all of 2024 due to injury but has performed well in spring training. The Marlins are in a rebuilding phase, making Alcántara a valuable trade asset. The proposed trade includes not only Abreu, who had a strong rookie season, but also younger prospects like Luis Perales and Franklin Arias. While it would be hard for the Red Sox to give up these promising players, acquiring Alcántara could significantly boost their chances for a playoff run.
