Red Wings sign top Czech League scorer Eduards Tralmaks
The Detroit Red Wings have signed Eduards Tralmaks, the top scorer in the Czech Extraliga, to a one-year, two-way contract for the 2025-26 season. Tralmaks is 28 years old, standing 6 feet 4 inches tall and weighing 209 pounds. This season, he scored 23 goals and collected 51 points in 48 games for Rytíři Kladno, where he played for the past two years. Despite his impressive performance, he has never played in the NHL. The Latvian native previously spent parts of three seasons with the AHL Providence Bruins, part of the Boston Bruins organization. During that time, he scored 22 goals and had 41 points in 87 games. Tralmaks also played college hockey at the University of Maine from 2017 to 2021 and excelled in the USHL with Chicago Steel in 2016-17, where he was named MVP of the Clark Cup playoffs. Tralmaks was instrumental in helping Latvia qualify for the 2026 Winter Olympics, scoring a goal in the qualifying round. This signing follows the Red Wings’ acquisition of Jakub Rychlovsky, the Czech League’s leading goal scorer last season.
