Red Wings uncertain about lineup due to injuries

The Detroit Red Wings are preparing for a crucial three-game trip starting Saturday in Vegas. However, they are facing uncertainties with their lineup due to injuries. Left wing Elmer Soderblom and defenseman Erik Gustafsson did not participate in practice on Thursday. Both suffered injuries during Tuesday’s game against Washington, which the Red Wings lost 4-1. Coach Todd McLellan mentioned that Soderblom is "day to day." The team may call up a forward from Grand Rapids since they currently lack healthy extras. Gustafsson is also considered day to day, but his situation could be more serious based on upcoming test results. In better news, defenseman Jeff Petry is nearing a return after being out since January 2 due to surgery in February. However, he will not play in the game on Saturday. For practice, Michael Rasmussen filled in for Soderblom on the top line with Dylan Larkin and Lucas Raymond. If Gustafsson cannot play, William Lagesson is likely to step in as a defenseman alongside Justin Holl.
