Reliance Industries to invest ₹65,000 crore in biogas projects in Andhra Pradesh

Reliance Industries Limited has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Andhra Pradesh government to invest ₹65,000 crore in compressed biogas projects. This investment aims to create 250,000 jobs and generate ₹57,650 crore in taxes over 25 years. The company plans to establish 500 compressed biogas plants in the state over the next four to five years, utilizing available wastelands. Each plant will require an investment of ₹130 crore. Andhra Pradesh's Chief Minister highlighted the state's favorable conditions for investment and the introduction of new industrial policies. The agreement is part of the state's Clean Energy Policy 2024, which aims for ₹10 lakh crore in investments.
