Renault 5 Turbo 3E kicks off retro-inspired car line

Renault has unveiled the new Renault 5 Turbo 3E, a powerful car with 540 horsepower. This vehicle is part of a limited release and represents a "hyper-hatch" design. The company's design chief, Lauren van den Acker, indicates that this model could be the first of many retro-inspired cars. The Renault 5 Turbo 3E is all-electric and weighs 3540 pounds. It can accelerate from 0 to 62 miles per hour in less than 3.5 seconds and reach a top speed of 167 mph. This performance is possible thanks to two in-wheel motors, which provide better control and power distribution. The car is equipped with a 70kWh battery, allowing for a range of 248 miles. However, if driven aggressively on a race track, the battery could drain in about 15 minutes. Fortunately, the car supports fast charging. It can go from 15% to 80% charge in just 15 minutes with a 350kW charger. Acker describes the design of the Renault 5 Turbo 3E as influenced by the fast and furious style of the 1990s and 2000s. He also mentions that collaboration between designers and engineers is better than ever, paving the way for more retro models in the future. Renault aims to continue this trend in the coming years.
